About

Hi, I'm Vince Ruston (27, they/them), an emerging writer and editor living and working on Wurundjeri land (Melbourne, Australia) with my feline daughter, Persephone. I'm currently undertaking a Masters degree in Writing, Editing and Publishing through RMIT University.

I've been publishing my creative work in both print and digital forms for just under ten years. My first publication appeared in Voiceworks when I was eighteen, and shortly after that I joined the magazine's editorial committee. I served on the editorial committee for five years, from 2014–2019, and was shortlisted for the role of editor-in-chief in 2016.

I graduated from RMIT with a first class Honours degree in Media and Communications in 2018, and made the Vice-Chancellor's Award List for my dissertation on the role of narrative in trauma recovery. In 2020 I was offered a Wheeler Centre Hot Desk Fellowship for fiction development.

In my spare time I manage the blog Skin Witch, where I aim to make the complex aspects of skincare fun, informative and accessible, with a witchy twist.
